I remember when we both those photos of this scene. We got into the City with a pass and were almost the only people in the world that day. We were hot and sticky because the temperature was 99 degrees with equal humidity. In spite of it all, we recorded some nice shots for posterity.

Looking back on that day (with a lot less trauma) do you realize how many wonderful photos we could have taken all over the French Quarter with no cars or trucks in the streets to mar the beauty. We had complete run of the place but were too hot, tired and traumatized to take advantage of our situation.

For me it was just being able to BE in the city again. I sometimes look at others K pics and wonder if I could have done something better. So many amazing images came about then.
